
Dr. Chengfei Liu has led and been involved in numerous research projects in the areas of workflow management, Web information design and management, object-oriented software design and databases, distributed databases and data integration, advanced transaction management, etc. and has published 60 refereed papers in prestigious international journals or in the proceedings of prestigious international conferences. He has been invited as a program committee member for numerous international conferences and a reviewer for Australian Research Council (ARC) discovery and linkage grant applications.
Dr. Chengfei Liu obtained his PhD, MSc, and BSc all in Computer Science from the Nanjing University in 1988, 1985, 1983, respectively.
He joined the School of Information Technology at the Swinburne University of Technology as an Associate Professor in 2004. From 2000 to June 2004, he was a senior lecturer in the School of Computer and Information Science at the University of South Australia.
From 1998 to 1999, he was a lecturer in the School of Computing Sciences at University of Technology, Sydney. From 1995 to 1997, he was a senior research scientist in the CRC for Distributed Systems Technology at the University of Queensland. From 1989 to 1994, and 1988 to 1989, he was an associate professor and a lecturer in Computer Science Department at East China University of Science and Technology, respectively. In January to March 2003, he was a visiting professor at the University of Aizu, Japan. From July 2001 to February 2002, he was a visiting scientist at IBM Silicon Valley Lab.
