Zhou Zhiying was graduated from Tsinghua University in speciality of computing mathematics. Now she is a professor of dept. of computer science and technology at Tsinghua University. During the beginning of 80' she visited Courant Institute of New York University and UC Berkeley, US. Then her career on software engineering started. After returning China, she lectured the graduate course "software engineering technology and design" in Tsinghua University. She also participated many national key projects and several development projects on the large complex network applications.
Her wrote a set of three books on modern software engineering as the output under 211 project named "application software development technology under network computing environments". It is indicated that the modern features of software engineering roots from the impact of economic global. She tried to explain some issues of software engineering by traditional Chinese culture with historical position.
The recent research interests focus on distributed systems, such as correspondent software development technologies, the dependence of software (develop technologies and applications) and cultures in distributed systems, etc.
