Dehua Ju Prof.
    Male, born in October 1938, is Vice-president and generUniversityal manager of ASTI Shanghai. He also is a professor of computer science and business school at East China of Science & Technology, adjunct professor of Wuhan University, and serves as a visiting research scientist and supervisor of CS doctoral students in the Institute of Software at the Chinese Academy of Science, and a special research fellow at State Management Science Institute. His current focus and interests include CASE tools; advanced software tools and software engineering environment; software automation; software engineering management, network computing; and Internet/intranet, multimedia applications, and E-Business. He received his diploma in radio electronics from Tsinghua University and did his post graduate in electronic physics, also at Tsinghua University in 1966. He was a visiting scholar of CS department at the university of Maryland from 1981 to 1984.

    He was the first chair and dean of CS department at ECUST. He has more than 25 years of experiences in software development and managing software projects for both domestic and overseas. He gained remarkable achievements in education, research, practical applications, international exchange, as well as combination with industry. He earned the State Science & Technology Achievements Award 1992, the first prize of Shanghai S&T Achievements Award, the State Distinguished Expert Award, and Shanghai Talent Nominee Award in Science and Technology for his excellence in research and application of CASE tools. He was successively awarded the honorable titles such as the Excellent Education Worker and Shanghai Model Worker.

    He has been invited for more than twenty times to visit US, Japan and UK for lecturing, technical exchange and joint R&D. He co-founded ASTI, an international software company in 1990 and has led successful development of several leading-edge software products since then. He attained enviable reputation both at home and abroad. Currently he is the IAB member of IEEE Software and was great honor to receive the invitation to attend 1997 President's Roundtable meeting `of IEEE Computer Society.. He has served and chaired on several national and international program committees. And he was the PC member and session chair of ICSE-98. Before the new century coming, he just had the honor to get the outstanding people and achievements award of the 20th century, Gold Record of Achievement Award in Computer Science, International Order of Merit in Computer Science and Software Technology, American Order of Excellence in Software Engineering, from the International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England and American Biographical Institute. He is a member of both IEEE-CS and ACM. Also, he is the director of China Software Industry Association, the executive director of the Shanghai Software Industry Association and chairman of Shanghai Software Quality Consortium. To promote the software quality improvement targeting the modern international standards, he initialed to establish the Shanghai SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network) and Shanghai QAI(Quality Assurance Institute) Federation Chapter, the first of such international organizations in China.
